Nutrition, complemented by physical activity and exercise, contribute to the physical and psychological health and well-being, improvement in body composition, and prevention of chronic diseases and disability. The understanding of the role and interaction between nutrients with physical activity and exercise, as well as its effects on energy-balance and other lifestyle diseases, are important for nutritionists and dietitians. Students will also examine in detail the barriers to be physically active while focusing on the every-day incidental (non-sporting) physical activity for the prevention of diet-related non-communicable diseases and mental health.
